Madness

Madness strikes
at the drop of a hat,
you don't see it coming
- Simple as that!

Some call you crazy
others 'an old bat',
but age doesn't matter
if you think like that.

Each to their own
affect in different ways,
manipulating thoughts
with the mind it plays.

Be happy with yourself
in rhyme and verse,
and content with your lot
while others curse.

The state will pick up
the bill for the care,
personal oblivion
taxpayers despair!
